Here's the situation: I had extensive undergraduate work at a traditional university. I was 11 credits short for graduation (BA in history) though, and was running short on a deadline for getting my bachelors degree (military-long story), so I found about Excelsior and finished my degree (BS Liberal Studies-History "concentration") there with just one additional course. I'm in graduate school now for a Masters in Education, but let's just say I want another undergraduate degree. Could I finish what I started and get a undergraduate degree in "History" (not "Liberal Arts Major/History Concentration") while working on another BA or BS (looking at adding a major possibly English/Literature or a science)?
Every school I have looked at requires at least 30 fresh units (quite often in residence) to grant a second BA/BS degree. It has always seemed preferable to geta second masters for about the same amount of effort. A second masters could provide you the units to teach in a CC.
I wouldn't worry too much about nomenclature like BS Liberal Studies/History v. BA in History. Go for the MA in History ... or a good MLS in History at Fort Hayes State University.
