Looking to take Saylor Business Ethics, Operations Management, Human Resources Management, and Conflict and Negotiation. These are upper division classes/exams, however they have only been rated so far by ACE as lower division.

I received my Associate degree from Excelsior in 1992. I asked Excelsior if I took the Saylor Direct exam if they would transfer in as an upper division class, or if I had to take the corresponding UExcel or TEC exam to get upper division. They basically told me I would have to register, pay the fees and an advisor would help.

That kind of sucks because I could end up paying $115+ per exam instead of the $25 for Saylor direct, and the exam probably doesn't perfectly align with the class on Saylor. Alternatively I could register at Excelsior and pay the fees.

Anyone have experience with Excelsior accepting Saylor direct for upper division credits?

I don't know the answer, but I agree it's a bit obnoxious they won't just tell you. It's not like they have to do new research to figure it out; this is something that they do all the time.

I don't see any of those courses as bearing credit: https://www.saylor.org/credit/

This is an interesting list: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1YdG-SXoHloExcF4EaQRnrD60zeqvt6AWf9alLJ3P4l8/pub?gid=0

Interesting, decimon. It appears only BUS205: Business Law and Ethics, ACPE-0099 is the only direct. So, that is really the only one in question. Mind as well take the UExcel for it. Thanks.

You can study at Saylor with the following classes aligned with credit bearing upper division exams:

    Saylor BUS205 Excelsior Exam BUSx323
    Saylor BUS300 Excelsior Exam BUSx425
    Saylor BUS301 Excelsior Exam BUSx410
Saylor BUS403 Thomas Edison Exam CMP-354
Saylor BUS303 Thomas Edison Exam NEG-401-TE

So I addition to the 90 credit hours that are ACE evaluated, you can use these for UK credit.

That's great if you're sure that Excelsior accepts those courses.

The Saylor material just helps you study for the exams at Excelsior and Thomas Edison.
They do not accept the Saylor course as credit.

What this does mean though is the 90 credits evaluated by ACE and these Upper division credits make Saylor an attractive education provider.
Combined with CLEP and DSST. You could test your way out of your Bachelor degree, and only be left with information literacy and capstone course at Excelsior.

Just wanted to let you know that I did finish my degree at Excelsior. I mainly got the upper division credits using DSST Vietman and Civil War. I got in under the wire before they became lower division. That coupled with four classes at Excelsior finished my degree.

Congratulations Bernie! There's lots of work built into these degrees. A nice accomplishment.
