    • Saudi Oil Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman warned Tuesday that the world is "running out of energy capacity at all levels."

    • "I am a dinosaur, but I have never seen these things," he said at a conference.

    • A UAE official also warned that more investment is needed in the energy sector for OPEC+ to deliver sufficient supplies.

My unpopular opinion is that we should be building nuclear power plants as fast as humanly possible, and finish the remaining research on how to build ones that use thorium rather than uranium.

As dangerous as nuclear power can be, it's far safer than a planet destroyed by climate change because we still burn coal.

I'm speculating that SA are possibly looking for funding to expand, also facing additional demand due to sanctions on Russia?
Maybe SA is exaggerating but maybe not?

I also like the addition of new nuclear power plants.

Did the sun, oceans, rivers, and wind all go away when I wasn't looking?

Solar is the best option, hands down, and the research is continuing to improve. Replacing existing coal plants with nuclear would stem the bleeding while we work on making renewable energy affordable and accessible though.

I'm generally in favor of nuclear power. I'm a bit concerned about plant safety, and a bit concerned about spent fuel rod storage, and a bit concerned about what to do with the nuclear plants themselves when they reach the end of their lifetimes.
