I was wondering if one can obtain any type of credit for attending workshops. After I complete my BS degree at Excelsior College, I wish to have additional credits towards a Masters program (of somesort). The workshops that I will be attending are "Educational Technology Conferences in Florida" that deals with a variety of technology that can be applied to the classroom in K-12, from novice levels to advanced levels of learning. Plus, I was wondering also, how to receive credit for a intership I did in the educational field unofficially. Does anyone have any information on how I can go about this...and eventually transfer them to Excelsior? I do not believe that Excelsior will apply credit to workshops in this manner. Please help. Thanks Jay
Out-of-classroom learning has to be documented by exam or portfolio, and your scenario would be the portfolio approach. Offhand, I can't think of any legitimately accredited school that will accept graduate portfolio credit (graduate credits should represent all new learning).
Columbia Southern does. I believe I have seen reports that several others do, as well, but I am not certain.
