OMG! What is happening in this country?

Speculation on the FBI raid on President Trump's home.

We're finding out that even former presidents aren't above the law.

One ex-prosecutor guessed that it had to do with Trump taking the presidential records with him to Maro Largo when he left the White House. That was against the law. I'll further guess that they suppose that he still has some records because they broke into his safe.

This must be it. Alternatively, it's about one of a dozen or so of his other alleged crimes, or something completely new.
Voters wanted to "shake things up" in Washington with this guy. I hope they are satisfied. "Promises made, promises kept".

Some records taken by Trump to Mar-a-Largo are so secret, so sensitive that not even a general description of the documents can be made public.

Of course, we know that one of Trump's best buddies is Putin. Perhaps some of this stuff could have been sold to Putin? I'm sure that Russia might spend millions to get this stuff. Or, perhaps let Trump build a big fancy hotel in Moscow if he provided some juicy secrets. Of course, our Republican friends will probably consider this possibility ridiculous. I seriously think that it's a real possibility though. He met with Putin without any other Americans in the room on occasion. Why? The only explanation I can think of is that they were discussing things that Trump didn't want to risk leaking to anyone, not even the FBI or the CIA.

The raid is supposedly about some documents that possibly violated the Presidential Records Act. These things are typically handled in a civil, not criminal manner.

Regardless of one's political affiliation, everyone who still possesses the common sense gene should be deeply concerned by all of this. There is no precedent for it in American history.

Meanwhile, Hunter Biden has been implicated in multiple federal crimes and his house hasn’t been raided. Hillary Clinton was proven to have illegally retained classified information on a private server, and her house was never raided.

This has nothing to do with "law and order." It’s about a completely different set of rules being applied depending on what political ideology someone adheres to. In simpler terms, it’s about corruption.

We are witnessing the blatant weaponization of the DOJ for political purposes. It's disgraceful, disgusting, and deeply disturbing.

Your post indicates that you've only been listening to the far right biased media. Here's the way Trump's crime is handled under normal circumstances.

quote from an article from last February:
A former civilian employee of the Defense Department was sentenced Thursday to three months in prison after admitting to taking materials containing classified information to her hotel room and to her personal residence.

The ex-employee's sentencing coincidentally came the same week of revelations that the National Archives had raised concerns about government documents found at the Florida residence of former President Donald Trump in recent months. The Archives asked the Justice Department to investigate the matter, prompting questions of whether the handling of classified information and government documents could lead to a criminal probe.

This seems like a good time to remind everyone that personal attacks, such as puerile name calling, is unwelcome.

Here's the truth bomb: neither Hunter Biden nor Hillary Clinton did anything illegal. That is, none of the many "implications" on these two ever amounted to a probable cause that would justify a search warrant - let alone actual provable wrongdoing. HRC is probably the most-investigated innocent person in history.

While I agree with your general sentiment, I suspect that Hunter Biden may be vulnerable and eventually may be charged with something. We shall see. It isn't likely going to be the nonsense that Trump was trying to strongarm Ukraine into accusing him of though.

Republican appointed-judge. Republican-appointed FBI director. Who is playing politics?

You have no idea what was in the warrant. You can, however, safely assume that there was probable cause that a crime took place, that evidence of the crime was located at the residence, and that there was no less-impactful way of reasonably retrieving it. (Inferred from the search warrant process.)

Again, where are the actual politics again?

You have proof of this? You've seen the warrant? Has it been reliably reported?
Actually, it's a federal crime, punishable up to 3 years.
Because the rule of law is being followed?
Right. And no precedence for any president to have acted in this manner.
Not by law enforcement. And how is that at all relevant to Donald Trump?
Trump-appointed judge. Trump-appointed FBI director. Who is being corrupt and what, exactly, is corrupt? You can't simply point to the fact that Donald Trump's house was searched by the FBI and conclude it was corrupt. You have to show how and why. Otherwise, expect your assessment to be soundly rejected by reasonable people.
You keep repeating that, but you're not backing it up in any way.

His unsupported assertions are just parroting what right biased media is beating their propaganda drum about.

What I find most amusing is that on right biased media they are demanding that Garland answer all these questions that different people keep throwing out. The problem is that the FBI and DOJ don't make this information public. The information that we do know is really just what Trump has told us and he has not even made public the search warrant.

And then attacks me when I ask for some support for his wilder assertions and assessments. Like that isn't done all the time around here. I really enjoyed this one:

As if he's some keen observer who's noticed me doing something. Like I haven't posted nearly 15,000 times over the past 20 years, and asking for support for wild statements all along the way.

    I find it amusing.:)

I don't think I've seen our Republican friends so worked up since maybe not even January 6. I understand that Trump's "armed wing" is online throwing around phrases like "lock and load" murdering FBI agents, Democrats, judges, DOJ officials, etc. Some such comments even being made by folks not yet sentenced for their January 6 insurrection activities. I'm sure prosecutors will be providing copies of such posts to judges when it's time for their judges to consider sentencing. :D
