That was very frustrating in my undergrad, where the textbook would use the 8th Ed., I'd buy the 6th Ed., and find out the only difference was the numbering. Or some of the stories in the margins! Quantic's book is "self-published" by Lulu though, so in this case I don't think they have the same motivation to churn out multiple editions, since students will buy the latest edition whatever it looks like.

They may buy it, but they'll buy it used for less if used ones are available, which, from your description, Quantic is trying to ensure they're not.

The Corporate Finance prompt has come out. Basically we're looking at the financial variables involved in a business decision (where to locate a factory, given various tax incentives and other variables), and justifying where to put it based on the Net Present Value (NPV) and Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of each decision. Due by Sep 26.

What you said is probably true. But since I got the full scholarship, I'm happy to buy a new one and scribble it with my notes, and keep it as a momento on my bookshelf after I am done. Considering it is just 1 book for the entire EMBA program, I think it is acceptable. Still a very expensive book at a "discounted" price of $60 for a paperback.

After getting a Kindle, I still prefer the feel of an actual book, but at the same time I see the merits of Kindle and its backlight, since a book can't light itself up -- still need to find match sticks for that. Searching for keywords using Kindle is faster, but I enjoy flipping the pages or checking the index to look for something. Maybe I'm old school like that.

A 2/5 on projects is worth just as much as a 5/5.. kinda interesting. For the written capstone, a 3/5 is needed. Capstone presentation is still 2/5.

This is for EMBA.. not sure about MBA.

For me.. 9/10 concentrations completed. 1/3 specializations completed. Overall 91% completed.

No updates in a while. I got behind and haven't submitted my Corporate Finance project. They granted me an extension and I was able to catch up on the required courses/modules. It's funny... I did some of the Quantic courses before I did my MBA at UTPB. I was skeptical that Quantic's courses could really match the experience of the MBA, but having done the MBA, I'm now not so sure that the interactive courses aren't enough!

Started my Quantic EMBA last month. Some quick observations
    • The program works really well for me, it is bite sized, so you can do it at your convenience, in transit, having lunch, basically any free time you have.
    • The argument that "the idea of MBA is meeting people" isn't really a negative for Quantic, I noticed that you get what you put in. Sure you are not on campus, but Quantic organise a lot of zoom meeting sessions, reading groups, have slack groups etc. And individually you can setup your own WhatsApp group and slack for people in the same geographical area / time zone. It really is a question of how much you want to put in to network, but people are generally welcome and open.

Submitted my Strategy assignment, that's the last project in the course. I still need to submit my Corporate Finance project (yikes, forgot about that one.) Otherwise on track. I need to have the Corporate Finance submitted by December 29 to graduate on time.

    Curriculum:
    • Business Foundations: 100%
    • Accounting: 100%
    • Markets & Economies: 100%
    • Data & Decisions: 100%
    • Leading Organizations: 100%
    • Marketing and Pricing: 100%
    • Finance: 100%
    • Supply Chain & Operations: 100%
    • Strategy: 100%
    • Entrepreneurship: 45%
Final exam needs to be completed by December 26.
    Graduation is January 12, 2022.

    Almost there!

Finished the last modules in Entrepreneurship. Coursework done! Just need to finish the Corporate Finance project (working on that now) and then write the final exam. I assume it says 98% complete rather than 100% because of the final exam or because I haven't done the optional exam prep.
