I typically avoid this part of the forum but recently began reading through things.

It is truly disheartening to see the negativity towards political parties, Presidents, candidates, etc. I value diversity of thoughts but a lot of the comments I see are distasteful.

Whether democrat or republican, have some class. Do not follow the footsteps of our glorious elected leaders in the constant bashing of other human-beings. Lift folks up…don’t try to tear them down.

That is my contribution to the crap-show that is Political Discussion.

It's interesting because otherwise reasonable people can become totally unhinged when politics are brought up. Even me!

That is what blows my mind. Some folks act a fool!

It's best you avoid this section of the forum, Josh. Politics is like that... and so is religion.

It’s a relatively safe place to blow off a bit of steam. True, MAGA types might not feel very welcome but in theory the whole forum is for scholarly minded people who aren’t generally willing to tolerate “alternative reality”.

You don’t get to make up your own “facts” in other words.

It's a fun place to be strawmanned, personally attacked and accused of fascism over minor differences of opinion. A veritable training ground for selective skepticism, slippery slopes and doomsday histeria.

Who doesn't need more of that in their lives?

By saying that, you have libelled me, slandered me, and [done more unspeakable things] to me. See you in court.

Yes, although it also says something that, even here, one person's alternative reality is another's cherished truth.
