    Looks like JFK doesn't offer a Psy.D yet.

    USF in Tampa has an APA-accredited clinical program;

    If you want to be a clinical psychologist, you're going to have to spend significant time in the field for practica and internships, no matter where you go.

    Tampa is my hometown and I did my undergrad at U of Tampa! USF is a very competitive program. I used to know a bunch of USF students in the early 1990's and they hated the program. Things may have changed though in the intervening years. I live in Tennessee now so my contacts with that program have dwindled away to nothing. At Fielding you go to local meetings in your geographic area called clusters. Then you go to California once a year and then other sites around the country over the rest of the year. Fielding is just as expensive as Argosy. The cost varies because you get tuition reductions as you progress through Fielding. the faster you progress, you pay less. But this varies for each person.

    Hi,

    I was working one contract in Tampa for a period of 10 months. USF was only couple miles away, but it seemed that almost "anybody" could get into their programs and it didn't seem competitive at all. I was hanging out with this one girl who was in their psychology program and she had mixed feeling about it. The campus is very nice and up kept, however I don't know if I would have attended it. Nova and University of Tampa on the other hand impressed me tremendously. I lived in the Harbour Island district and UT was like 5 minutes away. Their graduate studies are really impressive.

    Best regards,
    Sebastian

    Years ago I considered USF and even talked to their main person in charged of admissions to the program. I gave up because the competition to get into a few slots of the Clinical Psych. Ph.D. was horrendous. If I remember correctly, there were hundreds of applications for just a few slots and you had to have very high GRE scores. I moved on and eventually decided on Capella University. :rolleyes:
