I have been doing some research on DL project management programs and I would like to know if anybody has any information on ISIS international School of Information Systems or University of Wisconsin, platville, or George Washington University, one of these reasons I have listed these schools is there are no GRE or GMAT requirements, can anybody tell me if these schools are credible, i know they have accrediation, but how is the school itself... any information would be helpful
Do you mean ISIS or ISIM. I know ISIM University (www.isim.edu) has a Certificate Program in Project Management and is in partnership with Management Concepts Inc., in offering what is called PMPowerTrac. It is a test preparation tool is specifically designed to prepare students for the Project Management Professional (PMP®) Exam. I've never heard of ISIS.
Im sorry it was a typo, I mean ISIM, how reputable is thier program, I have been doing alot of reseach in schools that offer Poroject Management MBA, and there are several but I find it hard to gather information on these programs. Im trying to make a decision on which program I should go to, however I want a degree that prospective employers will know is reputable, instead of saying humm I have never heard of that school before. Do you know If Thomad Edison State College also offers a degree... can someone point me in the right direction
U of Wisconson-Plattville and George Washington are both RA schools and the programs are reputable. Some other programs include: Mississippi State University MBA - with a concentration in Project Management National Technological University Project Management New Jersey Institute of Technology Continuing Professional Education Certificate Program in Project Management Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Professional and Distance Education Technical Program Management for Commercial Businesses Stevens Institute of Technology WebCampus.Stevens Project Management Certificate Western Carolina University On-line Master of Project Management One note, the area of project management studies can be found in either the business or the engineering schools often with a different outlook. You did not mention the level you were wanting to study . If all you are looking for is to pass the PMP examine there are many others (take a look at the Project Management Institute site http://www.pmi.org/education/degree/index.htm). ------------------ M. It seems if you use the link I posted above you get a no such site notice from PMI. But, if you go their site http://www.pmi.org/index.htm and then click on the top education button, and then the side bar listred as Academic Institutions Offering Degrees in Project Management you do get there. I guess they wnat you to look at their whole site. ------------------ M. C. (Mike) Albrecht, PE
Mike, thanks for the extensive feedback, Im looking for a MBA program, and you have listed several differnt schools that I have looked at, question does it makes a difference with the accrediation that the school has? Or is being accredited more than enough? thanks for you help.
For those of us interested in Project/Constgruction managment there is a new kid on the block: http://www.pmoutreach.usyd.edu.au/index.html "PM-Outreach is a global and comprehensive Internet-based flexible (distance) programme, designed for 21st Century learning..." Cost about US$7000 for program(me) plus at least one trip to Sydney (which right now here in Northern California would be nice.. or wait till the 100+ august days .. descions?) ------------------ M. Hi, if you are looking for a MBA with concentration in Project Management University of Southern Queensland, AU offers one, you can find the main page under: http://www.usqonline.com.au/ Me myself, I decided for the MSc in Project Management, University of Aberdeen, you can find the programme description here: http://www.abdn.ac.uk/prospectus/pgrad/2002/engineering.hti#Project_Management Hope that helps, Cheers, Michaela
Hardly a new kid on the block, but does seem to escape notice year after year. The entire program can be completed without going to Sydney, although I must admit it took a lot of prodding of the faculty to get them to admit this. I managed to secure this in writing from the program director before starting. Being from Northern California myself, I sure wuoldn't mind a trip to Sydney after all this rain the last month. If you don't specifically need an MBA, the Master of Liberal Studies (MLS) program at Fort Hays State University in Kansas will be offering an online concentration in Project Management shortly. Their graduate tuition is among the cheapest I've seen for a RA school. Info at: http://www.fhsu.edu/cids/mlshome.htm Bruce
