Each program is different. Because I chose not to design my degree program around credit hours, there is no answer to your question. I have courses identified on my transcript, but not credit hours.

Most schools award credits for the dissertation. In nontradition programs, 12-24 credits are normal.

FYI: Keiser College and Everglades University non-proctored

Keiser College, for which I work, is RA. The same people run Everglades University, which is NA, and plans to seek RA starting this year.

Their online courses operate the same way, and they do not have proctored exams. Instead, there are timed open book/open note exams that the students take online.

It is expected from a "cristian" university. However, it does not seem like a rigorous standard.

All my exams were proctored with time limit. No mutiple choice questions. Exams were given at a local university and proctored by a local professor.
