A good percentage seem to go for the Bush/Guillani ticket. If he was really running, do you think he would affect the vote one way or another?
I think Rudy vs. Cheney is a wash. Unless the Vice-Presidential candidate is a buffoon, or in the case of Dan Quayle, the media can portray him as a buffoon, I don't think many people care about the VP. Rudy made his mark after 9/11, but don't forget that Cheney did also. The first couple of times that Bush appeared on TV after the attacks, he had a deer-in-the-headlights look that scared the crap out of me. Cheney was on, I think, "Meet the Press" on 9/13 or 9/14, and his calm demeanor and in-control attitude went a long way towards reassuring the nation, I think.
Unfortunately, that is probably true. However, Cheney has played an enormous role in the Bush adminstration. Any thinking person (for or against Cheney's views) will take that into consideration.
No, I am not. I am saying that any thinking person would take this into consideration. I certainly would never argue that most voters are "thinking people" (as I define that term.)
