Or, we could just go back to talking about issues, rather than one another.

Note that I asked a question without inferences associated with it. The poster evokes "doctor" in his/her handle and has strong opinions on related subjects. It seems reasonable that, once the person's doctorate is proffered, its source might be of interest and relevance.

I will look forward to his/her reply.

Honestly Rich, I’d just let it slide. Let’s get back to more topic-related discussion. :)

Thanks for the advice, but I know what I'm doing.

    (Seriously, thank you.)

I'm really curious what a PhD in the field of financial planning or consumer financial education would look like.

Is there a theory of financial planning that can be extended?

  8. There are actually a few programs:
Faculty in these programs are highly involved in research.

Why would you say such a thing unprovoked?

I have a similar question. Why would you make that comment when most of us were trying to steer the thread back to the original topic?

Is a general comment and one directed at someone the same thing to you? Why be insulting?

My intent was not to insult. Therefore, I extend my apology to you.

    Accepted.

My intention was to shut down the guy who was trolling both the thread and me. It worked.

Wow. I just read that other guy's reaction in a locked thread. I have zero idea why he would launch into me like that. I asked some pretty innocuous questions around affirmative action--which I generally favor for what I consider to be obvious social structure reasons--and he accused me of some amazing things. I'd never heard of the dude before his unhinged rant. I hope he's gone.

Do you think it appropriate to link to someone’s LinkedIn when attempting to tie them to an anonymous person’s DI account without any proof?

It is quite possible that you solved the mystery, it is also possible that "DrSchmoe" is Dr. Joe Schmoe/Shmoe/Schmo.

The LinkedIn profile is self-promotion, so there's no violation of privacy here. It was stated in January on this board that he is a chiropractor, so I have a high degree of confidence that I didn't pull some irrelevant person's profile into the discussion.

I also offer no inferences about it. Just noting the fact.
