    Dear DegreeInfo Community,

I am in the process of gathering information for what will become a career change for me.

But first, I would like to introduce myself so that you may get to know me a little better. I want to say though, that I am very impressed with the quality of posts on these forums and believe this to be a very good site full of great information!

For several years now, I have contemplated becoming a full-time teacher in higher education. The time has come for me to make this change, and in the process, I want to do the best job I can with my decision-making.

I have taught for a local community college, and between that, and the teaching opportunities that I have in my full-time job, I'm hooked. <grin>

I hold the BS in Computer Science & Mathematics (Interdisciplinary), and a Master of Arts degree in Business Management -- both earned from Birmingham-Southern College.

After graduating, I worked my way up the IT ladder and into a full-time Database Administrator position for my company (which is at the supervisory level where I work).

At any rate, when given the opportunity to teach, I am fully committed to delivering the best educational experience I can. To say that I've been thinking about this change for awhile is an understatement.

I would like to combine my undergraduate and graduate experiences into a doctoral level contribution. That is, some cross between Computer Science and Business Management. I'm thinking of something like IT management, or IT & education.

I am certainly going to investigate local options, but I want to know from you, the DegreeInfo community, what Doctoral-level opportunities exist in the DL realm. Surfing has resulted in tons of bookmarks in my Favorites folders, but it's hard to gauge quality without having made contacts who know from first-hand experience.

Thank you so much in advance for any information you are willing to share.

    Sincerely,
