Please detach yourselves just for one moment from the mob, and review the entire discussion before declaring - That's enough of that." Was it not "enough of that" when I was backhandedly referred to as a pig?

You allowed cheap shot after cheap shot upon me. In closing, I do enjoy calling everyone's attention to

The left tends to use a lot of Guilt by Association and Kafka Traps, also known as the SJW trap, which you were a victim of.

How it works is if you support Trump, then by association, you are:
    Racist
    Fascist
    Homophobic
    Transphobic
    Xenophobic
    Bigot
    Nationalist
    Hitler
    Nazi
    Misogynist
    Extremist
    Far-Right
    Alt-Right
    QAnon
    Jan 6th Insurrectionist
    Climate Denier
    Election Denier/Big Lie
    White Supremacist
    KKK
Etc, Etc. to fit the narrative

    https://examples.yourdictionary.com/examples-of-guilt-by-association.html

You can take anyone, find a statement they said, or an action they did, then use that to attack the character of their supporters.

It's a simple tactic but wildly used both in legacy and social media.

Here's a thought: supporting Trump, now, while not making you any of the things on your list, at least means that associating with these people is not a deal breaker for you. So I would say that while, yes, this is guilt by association, you'all brought it on yourself.

In 1930-40 Germany, people had complex, nuanced political positions too. However, these who supported Adolf Hitler (a relative majority of very different people) are Nazis - by definition. And while Trump is no Hitler, not even close, a movement that he chose to lead is, in my opinion, a Fascist movement. Draw your own conclusions.

I had to go back to the thread to see what the heck was being referred to in the other thread where Charles thought someone referred to him as a pig in a back handed manner. Apparently this is the post.

"Never wrestle with a pig – it gets mud all over you and the pig likes it."

That is most definitely not calling anyone a pig. What Rich was obviously referring to was the fact that Charles was not really discussing the issues. Instead just tried to bounce from topic to topic.

Here's my note to the moderators. This thread is even worse than the thread that was closed. I suggest that this thread be closed as well.

No point in this. There were some heated comments. Some of them weren't nice. Some of them could be interpreted as being personal attacks. Some them could be argued weren't meant to be taken that way. In any case, it was a train wreck and wasn't ever going to become a meaningful discussion.

Rather than continuing to point fingers, can we please just move on?
