Okay, at the risk of starting another “I love NCU” thread, I’ll bite. :D

I am currently in my third class with NCU and my experience with them has been excellent so far. The staff is very responsive and helpful and the courses are challenging.

To this point my experience with the mentors at NCU is on par, and sometimes better, than that of some B&M schools I have attended.

My first mentor was very knowledgeable and a tough grader. Her feedback was very detailed and I can say I learned quite a bit from the course. Her response time was usually within a day or two for graded assignments and usually within a day for questions.

My second mentor was also very knowledgeable but she was not a very tough grader. Her feedback was minimal, but when I had a question, her feedback was very detailed and answered my question every time. Her response time usually within hours for graded assignment and questions.

My third mentor is also knowledgeable but isn’t the most helpful guy when it comes to questions. His responses to questions are usually not helpful, but he does provide extremely detailed responses to graded assignment. His response time is very slow. It usually takes about four to five days to receive feedback from him on graded assignments and usually a day or two for emailed questions.

What can I say? I have taken courses from two RA, B&M universities, at the masters and doctoral levels, and NCU is on par with both of those universities.

    ?

As an example, what does the first course at NCU look like / require?

What is the employment status of the current NCU students?

How many hours a week are you putting in, just on the education portion?

While I understand this is an opinion, I'm just wondering about TUI. Do you mean Touro University International (http://www.tourou.edu) or Union Institute & University (http://www.tui.edu). If you mean Touro, what do you think is missing from the doctoral program? Since I'm working on my dissertation there, I've thought about the issue six ways to Sunday, so to speak. Also, if this program is inferior in an objective sense, why did Middle States and WASC accredit it? Moreover, why do nearly all non-traditional doctoral programs offer much of the coursework remotely or nearly all doctoral programs allow one to leave after the taught portion to teach? Sorry for the questions but I wonder about the wisdom underpinning these modality wars.

    Best wishes,

    Dave
