    Oops! Vietnamese student applies to Miami University — shocked to be accepted into Ohio school

    A student was excited to move to Florida for college. Then she realized she'd applied to Miami University — in Ohio.

    I read an orientation guide for new students from one of the Harvard graduate schools that had to warn people searching for an apartment that Harvard, Massachussetts is an unrelated town 30 miles away from the university. It was written as if they'd had the problem before of a student signing up for an apartment in the town thinking it was much closer to campus.

    Reminds me of the time heralded New York basketball player Fly Williams got a scholarship to Austin-Peay State University and flew to Texas to play there.

    Also reminds me of Charissa Enget who accidentally applied to a rural campus of the university in Thailand she was interested in, instead of the Bangkok campus.

    She found out once she got off the plane in Thailand, though she ended up attending anyway and having a great time.
