Notre Dame College to Cease In-Person Instruction After 100 Years

The Roman Catholic institution located in the Cleveland, OH, area will cease in-person education after more than one hundred years of continuous operation. The school attributes its closing to low enrollment, a decline in college-aged students, and its significant debt.

 

That is local to me. Ironically, they were still sending recruiting emails to students the day after they had it on the news. Ooops.

 

Fighting to their last, I mean after their last, breath.

Hagakure = "hidden leaves." Book available on Amazon (and elsewhere) and subtitled - "The Way of the Samurai" - also the name of the movie, starring Forest Whitaker as 'Ghost Dog,' whom Steve quoted.

 

Somebody here once had the first part of that quote in his sig, line. I think it may have been our late friend Abner. He was a martial arts enthusiast. I remember him fondly - as do many others, I'm sure.

I checked - unfortunately the search gadget doesn't appear to do signature lines. Nothing came up except this thread.

 

Sadly it seems that the number of schools closing might increase instead of decreasing.

 

Sad indeed. In fact, I can't remember any posting predicting a decrease.
