Sounds like the degree includes mandatory work terms. I had to do placements as part of my college diplomas (2 days a week for one semester in year one, and 2 days a week for 2 semesters in work 2), and University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) requires university students to do a semester of work term as well. From a different article, Doesn't seem particularly innovative to me, but maybe I'm cynical.
