It's always good to see new DL programs (especially at the doctoral level), but I'm wondering if there is a market for such a specialized degree program.
It may well be....my point was that there might not be enough potential students for the program to survive & thrive.
Hi Bruce, my message yesterday wasn't intended to serve as a reply to anyone. I just stated that IMHO the program seemed to be very nice and of high quality when I browsed their site. I think they have the right connections (projects Picasso and Cervantes, for instance) and the curriculum seems to be VERY interesting. Of course, it may be very well that there is no public interest and perhaps it won't survive. I won't argue about that. Cordial greetings.
WOW! What a NEAT program! I would expect large parts of the coursework to be taught in Spanish or Portuguese. I wonder if the dissertation has to be in English? The minimum language proficiency requirement for admission corresponds exactly to the undergraduate minor in Spanish at New Mexico State.
