Hi, I am an Lpn from the great state of Illinois that makes it darn hard for Lpn's to get ahead and become RN's. Illinois does not recognize the Excelsior nursing degree so that has never been an option. With a full time job and a laid off husband, going back to school just wasn't something that looked to be in my future. Until now! I just discovered a distance learning Nursing Program offered through Indiana State University. Unlike Excelsior this program has clinicals, more than 450 hours that I can do in a nearby hospital. And Illinois approved this nursing program!! Here is the website - www.lpn2bsn.com and again, this is only, I stress only for Lpn's to become Rn's, this does not include the wide range of health care professionals that Excelsior accepts for its nursing programs.
Welcome to the board. I will say that I'm a bit miffed that the link you provided was loaded with pop-up ads. However, I won't hold that against you.
To anyone interested in this progam, please avoid the original posters link. It is a popup nightmare. Use this link: Indiana State Program
Re: sorry about that! The site you provided is a 3rd party portal that offers no specific info on the program. In the end, they want you to fill in some info so that you could be sent more info. My suggestion is why not just go directly to the Indiana State site to avoid the 3rd party portal sign up routine and get all your questions answered directly from Indiana State.
Another way is through the Indiana State Distance Learning site: http://indstate.edu/distance/ From there you can access other oportunities also.
