Masters in Quality Assurance or Regulatory Affairs?

    Hello everyone,

I am close to finishing my degree online from Columbia College (MO).

I am thinking of going for a Masters degree. I was first considering a MBA, from University of Louisiana Monroe.

But then I was thinking perhaps it would be better to go for something different, a Masters in Quality Assurance from Cal State Dominguez Hills, or Regulatory Affairs from San Diego State University. Both are within my range in terms of total price.

I work in the Biotech field but not in either field, but am looking to transition to other areas of the industry. I also want a degree that I can fall back on in the future for other things not only in this industry but outside and perhaps other industries or career paths altogether.

What would you guys recommend, especially those in these career fields? Does anyone have experience with these schools/programs?

    Thank you for your time.

University of Florida and Florida State University both have masters in healthcare. UF is a MS in Healthcare Risk Management and FSU is a MS in Risk Management. I know FGCU had a MS in Compliance but can not find it.

I think CalDog has done the CSUDH degree. You may want to PM him.

I earned my MSQA at CSUDH by attending evening classes (not by DL). I was very pleased with what I learned and it complemented my engineering job perfectly. The statistics course was the most difficult. The courses were arond 55/50 technical and management (the degree content has changed slightly since I took it). All but 2 of the courses were taught by adjunct faculty who were experts in their fields.

I found that this degree was valued more by my employer than an MBA because quality (both product and service) was a top company priority. I applied for an adjunct position at a local CC and during the interview was informed that they considered my degree acceptable for teaching in the management dept.

Major- NGS actually offers both online and hybrid for the MS currently. I believe the exclusively online option is fairly new though.

Thanks for the clarification. Seemingly most of NGS’s online option degree programs are not available in Massachusetts (?).

I wish I could remember what is up with Mass. I went to a DBA session in DC and asked that question.

And with NGS located in Falmouth, MA ... rather strange.

How did a thread on Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs get on an Education Degrees sub-forum?

Yes - this should be moved to the General Discussion section.

However there is a lot of interest in applying Quality Assurance to Education - CSUDH has awarded MSQA to people in the education field. The ASQ has numerous books on applying QA to education

There are probably educators who are interested in Regulatory Affairs.

I was not sure where to put the question as there was not a specific area for masters degree.

Thanks Ian, I looked at the other schools in this thread, and based on cost comparisons it looks like the CSUDH program is the one I am shooting for. I do not have a technical bachelor's degree so I will have to get pre-approval but it is a field I am interested in more than a masters in other areas such as MBA.

Does CSUDH still have a MSQA on campus? I only see it as being DL on their website.
