Yeah, probably. But at least it's a degree from Cambridge International University USA. The one in the UK is an Axact thingy.

A time-bomb that seems to have detonated spectacularly, right under the butt of Malaysia's Deputy Foreign Minister. (Who until recently was boasting a degree from the 'University of Cambridge', which is reportedly a somewhat legitimate school somewhere in Britain.)

More information from various Malaysian news stories:

    https://www.thestar.com.my/tech/tech-news/2019/02/08/cambridge-international-university-hack-in-question/

"Cambridge International University's" website (ciuedu.us) seems to have been taken down, with "you're hacked" and the word "malware" left to scare people off. The Malaysians report that the e-mail addresses once provided don't seem to work. So an entire university seems to have disappeared overnight. (Easy when there's nothing there to begin with.)

Asia One reports that at least one of the photos of "Cambridge International University" faculty members seems to have been lifted from a dating website.

    https://www.nst.com.my/news/nation/2019/02/458486/marzuki-shares-transcript-results-look-similar-photo-ciu-website

New Straits Times reports that the "Cambridge International University" transcript that Malaysia's deputy foreign minister presented looks suspiciously like one displayed on the CIU website. The name on the transcripts are different as are the course titles, but the grades are all the same grades and in the same order.

    https://www.nst.com.my/news/nation/2019/02/458200/cambridge-gate-who-ravi-prabakaran

New Straits Times also reports that many of "Cambridge International University's" official partners are also listed on the website of something called "University of New Imperia", supposedly in Delaware. The Malaysian reporters have been trying to track down the "official partner" in Malaysia, without success.

I get the impression that this story is becoming a bit of a sensation over there, with political enemies of the party in power pouncing on it.
