Very interesting. My alma mater, Spurgeon's College in London, is also launching a new program this fall entitled the MA in Digital Theology. It does entail a few short intensives on the campus in south London, but the bulk of the program can be completed online. This degree is validated by Liverpool Hope University, which issues the degree upon completion.
Since we seem to be talking a lot about the Catholics lately even though apparently none of us are Catholic, some might be interested in the classic short sci-fi novel Deus X by Norman Spinrad, in which many people have uploaded facsimiles of their consciousness onto the Internet as a way to exist after death, and the Catholic Church grapples with whether such copies have souls that can be saved and should be ministered to. (Not entirely relevant to the topic, I'll admit, but when I saw "Digital Theology" it leapt to mind.)
