Does anyone have any experience with the PhD from Luther Rice? The program is about two years old. It us SACS, ABHE and TRACS accredited. I had an email chat with the program director over a year ago. He estimated the time commitment to be about 25 hours per week, which seems unsustainable if someone is also working full time, raising a child, etc. Thoughts?
I don't know anything about Luther Rice except that it is evangelical school. However, I do not understand why anyone would want to take a degree from such an obscurity. One gets only one PhD in a life-time. Don't get it from someplace no one as ever heard of.
If I get a PhD it will be from a school I like with a program I like. Whether others have heard of a school isn't a concern, and really shouldn't be for anyone looking at programs. No one has ever heard of Bakke Graduate University either, but I love the DTL there as well.
I did. Interesting indeed. Some of those referenced in the thread seem to have majored in earning degrees! If I do a doctorate, one will be enough, though I could see myself going back to earn a masters in a completely different field.
