I guess you could say that I am currently going through a crisis of identity of something. I am an LPN asn you can see by my user name but I am really struggling with rather I really want to be an RN or not. I've been taking prerequisites for that and planned to finish my RN through Excesior but I really am not sure about that anymore.

I was seriously thinking about maybe looking at some other kind of degree like maybe a marketing degree or something like that. I think that I would really like to be involved with an organization like the humane society or something like that. I would love to work with animals. I don't think being a veternarian or anything along that line would be very feasable because of the amount of school that it would require. I think about becoming a vet. tech but the pay is really bad.

Anyone out there in distance learning world have any thoughts or ideas?

Ya'll are going to start to think that I am nuts...

If you can afford it and have the motivation, I would strongly suggest you finish up and get your RN certification. It's something you'll always have (provided you keep up with your CE credits), and the per diem rate for RN's is very good, which would give you the financial security to be a vet tech.

I recall an RN in D.C. who was looking for a career change because she did no nursing. She was strawboss to the PNs.

    That was 1967.

    No, you're not nuts.
