It's been a long time since I've been in school. I've been working in business management for the last 15 years, looking to get a degree in education but only have high school diploma and looking for help on best way to go about it. Any suggestions?
    Thanks.

Why a degree in education? What's your professional goal that you want to reach, but need a degree to get there? That will help people tailor their advice.

I would like to become a teacher and coach at the junior high or high school level.

If you need to do this through distance learning the easiest way to start is to look to your own community college/state university system. Virtually every state university system has an online BA Education program. Start there. Pay attention to costs. Pay attention to subject concentrations. This is very do-able. Do a bit of research and then come back with more questions.

Kizmet is right, as usual, and the community college to state college path is probably the least expensive way to go. That's the first place to look. If you have no choice but to go with a completely online degree due to time constraints, most of the best known schools offer online format degrees in education. Capella, Walden, TUI, Excelsior, NCU, Charter Oak, Liberty University and National University all offer education degrees and there are many others. I earned my teaching credential and my master's in education from National University mostly online and have been very happy with the results.

Like you, I made the transition from business management to teaching. I have been a teacher now for over a decade and would be happy to answer any questions you may have. Fire away.
