Just idly wondering if LIGS will accept credits from MIGS?

It still leaves LIGS unaccredited. (No, I don't give any credence to ASIC.)

But being judged 'eligible' by WASC does suggest to me that it's unlikely that LIGS is a full-frontal mill. As WASC (and Kizmet) say "it is a preliminary finding that the institution is potentially accreditable". So it must at least superficially look like a legitimate educational institution to WASC, and that's more than we knew before.

I hope that this thing continues on the RA track. Or if that fails, DEAC or something.

If it succeeds in either, I think LIGS would be the first ASIC-accredited U.S. institution to achieve NA or RA CHEA/USDoE recognition.

There have been at least a couple that went the other way: University of Atlanta - DEAC to ASIC to unaccredited. And oh yes - the short (30-odd days?) ASIC accredited time of defunct Paramount California U.

You're welcome. The domain pcu dot edu now belongs to Pacific Cambria University, an Axact clone. Or maybe not, it might be pcuedu dot com now.

Both University of Atlanta and Paramount California have been linked in the media to Axact and both had their ASIC accreditation rescinded.

When ASIC doesn't want you, you KNOW you're done.

A great quote, LearningAddict! I've turned it into a Latin motto. Available at no charge to any school that wants it.

Proceed with caution, LIGS sounds a lot like MIGS. Where is Rich when one needs him?

Still lurking here on a regular (almost daily) basis. According to his profile, he checked in a mere 4-1/2 hours ago.

I, too, wish he would open his mouth. I promise not to stick anything in it. :chairfall:

MIGS - Monterrey Institute of Graduate Studies. LIGS - Leadership, Innovation, Growth, Success. One hopes the near-homonym is just an unfortunate coincidence.

Need to drop in to thank you all, really I was going to get involved with LIGS but you save the day, got me in to looking further no they will not accept LIGS degree in many EU countries as equivalent to an accredited university , so applied to accredited Universities in the States for an online PhD program. Trying to find the best tuition deal and as you said there are cheaper than LIGS accredited schools !!
