Well put...what some people don't understand is that others can not get coverage. Some can but it cost $1,000's a month, pay rent or have insurance? What would you do?

I would get a job with different pay/benefits.

This is part of the game of life.

In a way, it is a locus of control issue. I can do what I need to to ensure that the family and I have health care or I can whine that the government has a responsibility to provide it for me.

I don't think B4 is whining. He is simply making a statement. Many Americans including myself agree with him.

    That's a pretty broad statement/glaring generalization don't you think? I guess I am worthless.

The beauty of America is that if someone does not like unions, they need not apply for union jobs. That simple. We have freedom of choice.

How am I whining? I can't get covrage!!! I would pay for but they won't cover me!! So when I get sick I get to die? That's messed up...

Also I bet I pay more money in taxes than a lot of people on this board. 50% of my stores income will go to taxes this year..that will be more than moist American's make in a year.

That is a very broad, unfair, and close-minded statement. As you notice, I said that was my experience with them. This is all based on one job 20+ years ago. I guess it is just as meaningful a statement as "all DL for-profits are worthless" - :slaphappy:

Most importantly, how do you post those cool smileys? What setting do I go to?

    Take it easy Dr. Randell!!!!

While this may make sense for an individual, it does not make sense for the larger economy. Small businesses provide valuable services, goods, and jobs to local economies. When the solution is simply to abandon entrepreneurship, the system is fundamentally flawed.

Imagine that, the guy that works in the public sector in Commufornia is a liberal. God, so surprising. Can't wait till my tax dollars have to go to bail out that worthless s---hole of a state.

In the 6 years I lived in Japan, I saw the ugly side of the system. Sure, it's great for broken toes, and people with chronic conditions that need their maintenance medications (for conditions like asthma, diabetes, etc), but when it came to serious health problems, it was a mess. I've seen people having to wait months on a waiting list, and even get denied cancer treatment. Paramedics were not even allowed to carry defibrillators. When I was practicing judo, my instructors urged me to carry supplemental private insurance because the national insurance just doesn't cover a lot of things, or covers them poorly. Most Japanese people I knew had some sort of supplemental private insurance.

Thanks, don't come by anytime soon!!!!

**Public worker who pays a large amount of taxes along with his coworkers.** Also, can you try to come up with some original phrases? Your phrases sound like something you borrowed from some lame right wing radio show host.

Try not to get your chonies up in a bunch. He he he.

Hmm, I can't figure out how to get smiles or bananas on my post. I did "Go advanced", but I do not see anything that will let me select bananas or smiles. I tried to copy and paste, that didn't work either.

Oh wait! Let me try again. :fest30: :stooges: YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You made my day.

Oh,don't you worry. I have no intention of visiting your state. Hell, everyone worth a piss there is moving out. Your small businesses are flocking to Texas because of excessive taxes. No one wants to move there, at least not anyone that values their money. They should really divide that state in half, where the (somewhat) fiscally conservative in the southern part of the state have a chance to survive while NorCal spends itself into a black hole.

Glad you started this thread not intending to start a debate lol. But now we know: Political discussion forum + four controversial topics in one post = "spirited" debate. :argue: :swordfight: :chairshot:
