Another residential MBA program being halted. https://poetsandquants.com/2020/06/15/purdue-pauses-its-money-losing-rank-sinking-residential-mba/?pq-category=business-school-news
From the article: "The decision to at least temporarily shut down the program comes after years of application declines, enrollment drops, red ink, and a freefall in U.S. News‘ rankings." OK, then. Shutting down sounds like a no-brainer to me, even without an MBA. Too bad. I met precisely one Krannert grad - years ago. Very brainy guy.
I know that their online offerings are very popular as is their residential MS BAIM program. It'll be interesting to see what they do from here on out.
Hopefully, this will be a GM-like re-tooling. No more Vega's and they bring back the Camaro. That worked out OK. Good luck, guys. I'm rooting for you. Great school, Purdue. I know a PhD from there. (Seriously - he's my granddaughter's uncle - and her Godfather. Great guy - brilliant too, obviously.)
A friend of mine is a 2nd year MBA student at Krannert. He is upset because he was recruited away from better programs because of a Full-Ride. Now this...
Well, at least this shouldn't affect him too badly. He'll get his degree and his full ride. And Purdue is a great school - and I don't think anyone he meets in his job search will think poorly of his decision. He was good enough to qualify at Purdue for a full ride - he's now graduating and he's good enough to work - any place. "The decision will not impact this year’s incoming class nor returning second-year MBA students."
