Probably true, I think he's got a few screws loose. Sad really, can't help but respect his service but its time to step aside.

I'm reminded of Robert E. Lee's perspective on war---the tension between loving war and being repulsed by it. I often wonder how Sen. McCain has become so pro-war, given his horrific experiences in Vietnam. I don't for a minute doubt his courage, commitment, or love for this country, but I am amazed that he seems to be so quick to suggest military intervention.

In this case, Syria is a lose-lose. Al-Assad is a dirtbag, but the rebels aren't any better. I would rather have the devil I know than the devil I don't. Economic sanctions and other diplomatic means of "punishment" are as far as we need to go. If Syria's neighbors want to intervene, let them. It's not our job to pick winners and losers among thugs.

From an article: In remarks that could raise tension further before he hosts President Barack Obama and other G20 leaders on Thursday, Putin also said U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry lied to Congress about the militant group al Qaeda’s role in the Syrian conflict.

“They lie beautifully, of course. I saw debates in Congress. A congressman asks Mr Kerry: ‘Is al Qaeda there?’ He says: ‘No, I am telling you responsibly that it is not’,” Putin said at a meeting of his human rights council in the Kremlin.

“Al Qaeda units are the main military echelon, and they know this,” he said, referring to the United States. “It was unpleasant and surprising for me – we talk to them, we proceed from the assumption that they are decent people. But he is lying and knows he is lying. It’s sad.”

Putin did not give any more details.

Putin is not exactly a paragon of virtue himself. Hopefully you're not using him as a template of honesty.

Oh no, in fact I think its kinda funny when in the article is says that Putin is adressing his "human rights council" at the Kremlin. Hehehehe, human rights at the Kremlin.

I love it when we agree. I'm afraid that the time may come when we discover that he was worse than we ever imagined.

The reset button ran in the Republican primary but was a longshot when put up against the rewind button. In the grneral election, the pause button won, freezing all progress while sucking up the economitricity and continuously blaming the VCR.

    Or, something?

While Putin is by no means a boy scout, I actually trust him more than I trust Obama----and I voted for Obama. Of course, I don't trust Obama at all, and I only trust Putin a tiny, tiny bit.

I don't trust Putin at all -- it just happens to be in his interest to play this one straight is all. And I may not like Obama but I sure as hell wouldn't trade him for Putin! (Well, unless I were Edward Snowden. Then I would.)
