She didn't. It's taken off because of Tina Fey's spot-on impression of Palin on SNL, where it was Fey who said that. Palin said, "They're our next-door neighbors, and you can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska, from an island in Alaska."

She was referring to Little and Big Diomede Islands. Little is in Alaska. Big is in Russia and is a few miles away (and across the International Dateline). Frankly, it was a stupid comment, a distinction without a difference. That's why Fey tore it up.

It is reminiscent of "strategery," a term used not by GWB, but by Will Ferrell when impersonating Bush on (again) SNL. A lot of people think Bush said it, though. Probably because, like Fey's quote, they sound like things Palin and Bush would say.

 

I can understand Clinton's concern with collateral damage. The post was in reference to GWB's name being used in the thread. If the roles had been reversed--and GWB could have "killed bin Laden" and chose not to do so--and 9-11 occurred on Clinton's watch (and especially on Obama's watch), GWB would have been blamed for not acting preemptively.
