Did I miss something. I don't see where the article noted the jury ruled it an insurrection. Can you show me the quote (not finding individuals guilty of sedition).

You are stretching it dude. Don't try that when writing an academic paper.

Considerably more reliable than is this site.

Posting here is in no way comparable--in style, form, or purpose--to an "academic paper." It is a conversation, and some people here absolutely insist on being right, no matter what.

What I find interesting about this thread is that on accurate news sources January 6 has been called an insurrection for years as a matter of fact. Whereas on right wing media and the RNC it is called things like "legitimate political discourse". On the right during and soon after the January 6 insurrection folks on the right called it what it was. It was only after the months dragged on and Trump turned right wing media and the party base around to widespread belief that the election was stolen did we see the change on the right. For example, folks believing that Biden didn't legitimately win the 2020 election has actually grown since January 6.

So, I admit this thread was a bit of troll of our politically right leaning colleagues. Although it is completely accurate. Sedition, insurrection, and rebellion are pretty much synonyms. (to the chagrin of some )

If sedition has occurred along with convictions for assault, then it kind of seems pointless to disagree with whether the word "insurrection" is appropriate.
