I am down to a few colleges to choose from and I am kinda wondering how my transfer credits would pan out at each college. Is it appropriate to apply to all the colleges to get an offical transfer evaluation?
Quite true. This is one of the reasons why you will often see that a college sends out 1500 acceptance letters, but only actually enrolls 1100 come the fall. In addition to which school offers the best education, you need to determine which has the best offer. And, if you're lucky, they are the same school. Tom Nixon

You're not shoppin' a book to publishers. Of course it's okay. Be as brazenly self-interested as you wish.
Not only is it acceptable, it is expected. Most professors, when requested to write letters of recommendations, will offer to write five of them. Strategy? Choose one extremely high prestige school (just to see what happens), one open admissions school (just in case all else goes wrong), and three intermediate ranked schools. Find out where you can get in. Good luck!
