http://www.usnews.com/usnews/edu/elearning/directory/elearn2mba_P66646.htm I was just looking at a report from us news and reports that stated that the AIU mba is infact accredited by Advance Collegiate Schools of Business or The AACSB is this correct ? If so this is a big step for AIU MBA program !
Codekiller, As a current MBA student at AIU, I would be happy if AIU was AACSB accredited. Unfortunately, the fact of the matter is that AIU is not AACSB accredited, and probably won't be any time in the near future. For a school's business program to be AACSB accredited, the school must have a high percentage of full-time faculty. Considering AIU relies on a high percentage of adjunct facilitators, AIU will probably never be granted AACSB accredidation. In my opinion, I don't think the lack of AACSB accredidation is a mjor issue when it comes to employers. For example, the NJ state government (my employer) does not care where your degree came from as long as the school is accredited by the US Department of Education or CHEA. However, if one wishes a career in academia at an AACSB accredited school, then the lack of an AACSB MBA will most likely hurt.
