Is a 70 or a 65 in a regents exam is a good grade for college standards?

I know this maybe a stupid question but I got a 70 on my Global Regents Exam and I heard one of my teachers (idk what she exactly said) but she said something if people want to get into a better college they need to get a higher grade on the regents. It made me confused since you need at least a 65 to pass an regents exam for requirements for college. What my teacher said was true or not?

I don't know anything specific about the Regents Exam but if it's at all like the SAT then it's logical to think that a more selective school would have a higher standard for admissions.

This is a high school exam, right?
Here's the thing- too much is made about getting INTO college. It's getting OUT that's hard. 50% don't - at all.

So getting into a BETTER college? Better than what? Better than one that WILL let you in with your existing score? I simply choose not to consume myself with such nonsense. Study hard, go to a school you can afford, graduate, have a life. College is but one tiny piece of the whole thing, despite your teacher's threats that the sky is falling.
