This is for a friend of mine who is searching. . .

What are some alternatives to Peru State College and Fort Hays State University regarding master's degrees in education? Are there any that compare cost-wise (preferably in the United States)?

Cost is not the only factor--but it's a major, major consideration.

Is the purpose of the degree to be able to teach in American elementary or secondary schools, or is it another purpose? (I ask because it makes a difference.)

Also, just straight education, or a specialty like Educational Technology?

Good questions, Steve. Basically, the reason for the degree is for a salary increase. Therefore, no specialization would be necessary (but certainly couldn't hurt).

Damn, I SURE WISH THE SEARCH FUNCTION WAS WORKING!!! But, anyhoo, some time ago, I composed four threads of lists of DL MEd programs by price category (under $10,000, $10,000-$15,000, $15,000-$20,000, and over $20,000), which included majors/concentrations. These lists, I believe, date from ca. May 2005. There were, I believe, 188 schools on those four lists.
