I got a promotion!!

Are you this late with wishing people a happy birthday too? The person would be almost 6 years older by the time you wished them a happy birthday! Just yanking your chain, Denise. I'm sure you just didn't notice that it was an old thread.

 

Actually, I was promoted again since then to a National Service Director in charge of field service and the help desk. I went from being responsible for 60 people, ~$400M in contract revenue, and a narrow product line (promotion listed above) to being responsible for 125+ people and a wider product line.

Then in October of this year I quit and took a job with 8 direct reports, no travel, no weekends, and less stress.

AS it happens, yesterday in Portland we 'exercised' the Starbucks gift card you sent me, for sort-of winning that contest a few months ago. Six non-fat lattes. We toasted your success, and send you our thanks and best wishes.

 

Not usually! It was weird when I signed it it showed up as a new unread thread - so I didn't even look at the date.
