My husband has a BA from a small Christian liberal arts college. He has knowledge of classical Greek and Hebrew. His lifelong dream has been to study Biblical archaeology and near east history.

We are Protestant and he is very open to denomination with the exception of any college that is connected with a televangelist. This would rule out Liberty, Regent, Oral Roberts and the like.

I really don't want to argue that last part. Those are his feelings.

    Thank you.

Wheaton College has an MA in Biblical Archaeology as does Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (Kansas City).

Wheaton would be where he'd really want to attend. However, there is nothing online. I will tell him about Midwestern Baptist though. If I remember correctly, they do have something on line. So does Trinity Evangelical in Michigan. But I'm not sure about the archaeology.

I think it will be hard to find an online Biblical Archaeology degree. Midwestern is traditional (in person). However, they do offer flexible class schedules. Additionally, they offer family apartments and townhomes. Good luck in the search!

There is a ten year old thread on MA degrees in Biblical Archaeology on this very forum. The University of South Africa offers an MA in Biblical Archaeology by distance. In South Africa, as in all other countries that follow the British system of education, the master's degree is by thesis only (no coursework).

Jerusalem University College (formerly known as the Institute of Holy Land Studies) offers an MA in Biblical Archaeology. The program is residential, but if I remember from their literature, it can be done as a summer only proposition.

Thank you Ted! I'll have him look into those. Do you know anything about either one?
