    Study habits

    My Objective:
Accumulate the necessary credits through testing to then sign up and get an Asscociates Degree in Business. After that I will probably pursue a Bachelor's Degree, maybe in Liberal Arts.

    Study habits:
Fortunately right now I haven't been working for about a year, and during most of this time I have been studying. I started off with a strict schedule, of having to sit down and do so many hours per day, etc. but eventually things evolved and now I find it is best for me to study whenever I feel most up to it. Usually try to do 1.5/2 hours in the morning and then 2.5/4 hours in the afternoons. But this is just a general plan that hardly ever gets met. After so many months sitting at home studying I go through periods when all I can do is 2.5/3 hours per day. It's not really the amount of hours that counts because some days I am much more alert than others. The important thing for me is to continue on, no matter at what pace. I do take some vacations from studying once in a while for a week or so, but never much longer.

    Distance Education:
I am happy with the structure that I have now, i.e; preparing for standarized tests without a fixed time for each course. I study, and whenever I am ready I can then book the exam. For some subjects it takes one month, for others 3. I wish I could do all my studying like this forever; that is, not having to deal with the stress of fixed terms in which to complete courses, meet exam deadlines, etc.

You are really working hard. Your efforts go beyond mine, at least so far. I'll probably do a little more, later, but not right now. :) Congratulations on the fine effort you're giving, and good success on your objectives.

    Thanks

    Thanks.
I am now tired and leaving for a few days rest, with my books of course. Here in the city I just can't find the energy to study lately.
    Will be back soon.

With all those cats and family, and on top of it work, I am surprized that you are able to study anything at all!

I study much more in DL than the B&M schools. I think it is because I have access to it all the time. Where there is a discussion board that is a part of the grading system, I sign on once or twice a day (like I do with this forum). Most of the other students sign on once or twice a week. Since we are graded against eachother on participation, it always brings up my grade.

I usually do all the readings before the semester starts, then refresh during the semester. I also write all the papers up front, then tweek them according to what I have learned.

We work in groups, so my other 2 core members are great, and though they are stopping at the MBA, they have had to deal with me for 2 years, and I love them for it.

I do wish there was more individual efforts at the MBA level, even 2 page papers had 4 members who were to write it, and that made extra work.

I am ready for the Doctorate (I think).

In graduate school, it was "four A's and a B" all the way through until the last four classes, which became "three B's and an A." Major burnout taking 15 courses for the MBA while serving in 3 different locations for the Air Force.
