How do you feel about the scroll bars?

Just to point something out, but this post does not appear witha scroll bar on my screen- so it wasn't annoying at all lol. But, begging the question "why?" Other posts have them- so is this a glitch or what's going on ? Also, I hate the little "jump to page number ___"" thing.

 

HATE them, I use my scroll wheel and the "message" disappear from view as I scroll down the entire page. (Took me a bit to figure out why) I think it has to do with where my mouse happens to be as I "scroll" down the screen.

 

I explained what's causing it earlier in this thread, though I'm not exactly sure why it would be doing so. It seems to be caused by the new Like | Share links. Note that the scrollbar only appears on posts where the person has no signature. Look at one of the posts with the scrollbar and you'll see blank space at the bottom. Then hover over the Share link and you'll see that the resulting box fills up that space.

Strange. Guess it's just due to the subtle differences between how browsers render the pages. For me on this page I see three scrollbars in Firefox (james_lankford, james_lankford again, and JeepNerd) and only one scrollbar in both Chrome and IE 8 (james_lankford's first post on this page).

 

Notice that the bars only appear on members who have no signature line.

 

Oh yeah, that's gotta be 86'ed.

 

The scroll bars only appear on LONG posts and if your display is set to a lower resolution (or firefox/opera/IE zoom is higher). They're pretty unobtrusive so you still hardly notice them. I suppose on a phone they might be a pain, but I think it's really devices like those that they are there for in the first place.

 

Lukeness, in my browser (Firefox 3.6.13 in Win7) I see a scrollbar on your short post above. In Firefox & Chrome they seem to occur even in short posts when the user does not have a signature.

 

Yeah, that's weird I was clearly mistaken, I see them in my post too, but not in some of the much longer posts...

 

Doesn't really bother me when I'm on my PC. It's a pain the a$$ when I'm using my iPad.

 

What do I think of the scroll bars?
