On this eve of New Year's Eve, I wish everyone a Happy and Prosperous new year.

In two short weeks, I will be in Santo Domingo, for a week for the practical phase of my avocational International Judo Federation Academy Certificate course. I daydream of other lifelong learning challenges for the coming year. I like the Idea of the University of Chicago Graham School Basic Program. Yet I'm having a difficult time justifying the expense even to myself.

I don't know how much time I will have for sightseeing in the Dominican Republic. I was fascinated to learn the Dominican Republic has the tallest mountain, Pico Duarte, in the Caribbean, as well as the lowest point in the Caribbean, Lake Enriquilo. Time permitting and God willing, I plan on making an effort o see both geographic wonders.

If you have a chance to consider it, would you mind giving your opinion/impressions of what it might be like for an American to live there?

    Good luck with your practicum.

Awesome! I was blessed to have been able to make the pilgrimage to Bethlehem and Jerusalem when my ship visited Haifa.

    Happy New Year!
Hope you all work on those 'resolutions' for the year.
I mentioned it to my kids, all I got was a silent answer...
Anyways, good luck and have fun in whatever your goals are for this year.
