A degree from UoPx is accepted by most employers and because it is regionally accredited, can and will be accepted for admission to graduate school. Other factors that will be important will be your own focus on learning and skills developed to take graduate admission exams. If you prepare yourself well in each class, retain the information and can write reasonably well you will be able to get admitted to both DL and tradtional schools for graduate preparation. How you interview, how you score on the written tests (i.e. GRE or MAT), writing samples, and your overall presentation will all contribute subtabtially to the graduate admissions process.

Yes you can get your degreee cheaper. Typically the small state colleges offer inexpensive programs. The bigger programs may not be as flexible. A number of private schools are offering degree completion programs around the country (e.g. Southern Nazarene in OKC, Baker in Kansas, etc). These programs promise quick completions from regionally accredited schools. Typically they meet one night a week. Some Schools offer alternative degrees with limited on-campus experiences that can be completed pretty quickly (the bachelor of liberal studies (BLS) at the University of Oklahoma) and are less expensive compared to UoPx.

The real question is which is more important; cost? time? prestige? UoPx can and would meet your expressed needs. However, many other schools can also meet these needs.

Hope some of these ideas are helpful.

I'm not sure what a better than average academic reputation is, exactly; but if you're looking for a name-brand school, Florida State University has a BSCS completion program that may fit the bill.

    Good luck!

    Re: FOCUS

I took all my upper division classes at CSUDH and CSUSJ then used all my credits to obtain my USNY/Regents (now Excelsior) BS. I had no problems getting into classes thru open university and I selected interesting classes that were not full (such as International Finance, History of Diplomacy, and International Politics).

    Agree; problems with UoP

I have to agree with the statements of UoP. They were very agressive on my application to the Doctorate program. They wanted me to sign up for courses right away and wanted to continue on discussing the opportunities there. It was not very appealing.
