I note the following addition to Greenwich's accreditation page at http://www.greenwich.edu/guacc1.htm

The Greenwich University Act 1998 remains on the statute book and official copies of the legislation are still available and can be obtained from the university. The University is committed not only to providing the best education it can to its students but also to obtaining proper recognition for its graduates. To that end Greenwich University, in addition to undertaking the State Approval process in California, is also exploring other avenues of recognition and accreditation , both as an institution of higher learning and also for its programs and degrees.

So, apart from the state approval process, I wonder what the other 'avenues of recognition and accreditation' are? DETC? RA?

    Cheers,

    George

DETC accreditation would seem unlikely; I suspect granting doctorates is a significant portion of Greenwich's business.

Regional accreditation also seems unlikely under WASC without major changes to Greenwich's operations. WASC, IIRC, has never accredited a fully nonresidential university.

Sure they have! Wasn't WESC one of the "collective" to accredit Western Governer's Univ.?

Good point. WASC was represented on the committee. But it was the Northwest Association that took on their accreditation, not WASC.
