I am looking to apply to UNL Higher Education Administration program for Spring 2011 and would love to speak with graduates who did their EdD completely online. I understand this program will allow you to enroll in classes on campus or do your work through distance learning. Hopefully there is someone on here that can help.

    Thanks in advance!

Hi - We've been told (though I've never confirmed) that the Nebraska EdD program only admits 5 or 6 people per year. To my knowledge no one in the program has posted here at degreeinfo (probably too busy). You may need to contact the school to get some alumni contacts. Good luck.

I believe they now require at least one full semester on campus.

Sometime last year, a mandatory semester on campus was added for the PhD; no changes have so far been made to the EdD.

But with around only 5 admits out of over a hundred applicants annually, why bother applying...

You might bother applying because you are a competitive candidate who is worthy of admisssion. At the doctoral level, what is wrong with a competitive process? Or is your argument everyone in the world should be admitted to doctorate programs?

I had a very hard time getting concrete information from them about program requirements, course of study, etc. (In fact, I had a hard time getting a call or email returned from anyone.) I was told that accepted students work with their advisor to determine that plan. Which is great. But, I am more of a spreadsheet, planning kind of gal. But, if life changes a bit and I feel like retaking the GRE, I would consider applying, none the less.

I have heard the same thing as Kizmet. Apparently, it is a highly competitive program and I have also heard they do only admit people with very high GRE scores.
