    My question is;

    I graduated from Warren National University with a BS in Business Management. My graduation took place while WNU was still a viable online University. Is my Bachelor's degree any good? If not, what options are available for me?

    Please advise.

    Thanks;

    Jchapman,

    Warren National University, like its predecessor, Kennedy-Western University, was licensed as a degree-granting institution by the State of Wyoming. Degrees issued by WNU during that time should still be perfectly legal for use anywhere in Wyoming.

    The State ultimately adopted tougher accreditation standards; WNU was unable to meet those standards and therefore closed. But this should not affect the legality of the degrees issued while WNU was operating under its Wyoming state license.

    So your WNU degree is still legal in Wyoming. Of course, WNU never got any form of regional or national accreditation, and so their degrees may have restricted (or zero) value outside of Wyoming -- but this was the case even when WNU was "viable".

    If you are located outside of Wyoming, you need to check your your local laws to see if there are restrictions on the use of unaccredited degrees in your state or country.

    Jchapman,

    Welcome to the forum. WNU was never accreditied so if your intention is to enter a graduate program you may be very limited. You ask, "Is my Bachelor's degree any good?" What do you mean by "good"?

    As far as options, you can always take the knowledge gained from WNU and pass all the CLEP/DSST/ECE exams required to earn a regionally accreditied degree from COSC, TESC, or Excelisor. Depending on how much you retained and how good of a test taker you are, you could knock that out in 3 months or so.

    Have heard rumors that it is no longer possible to get KWU/WNU transcripts. If that's true, then it makes an already questionable degree even more worthless. Nobody is going to accept undocumented coursework from an unaccredited school.

    The best way to get credit for anything that you may have learned with KWU/WNU is probably through CLEP or other proficiency exams, as indicated in the previous post.

    Go get an accredited degree (options mentioned above). I am not sure Warren National was every considered more credible than KWU (which was not considered credible). My advice is to move on. There once was a guy on one of these boards that now has an accredited bachelors, two accredited Masters, an accredited doctorate and is working on a second accredited doctorate (not old either). But he started out with what was considered a diploma mill bachelors. He ended up mailing back the diploma, reclaiming his dignity and moving on (and doing very well). Don't get stuck hanging on to that WNU degree and never progressing, having to make excuses, etc. Chalk it up to being naive or stupid or whatever and go out and get a real degree, then a Masters and then a doctorate. The CLEP way is inexpensive and the degree has credibility (Excelsior, Charter Oak, TESC). Keep us posted on your progress. You are not the first person to begin on the wrong route (no shame).

    Yeah, I made my mistake (calculated risk) and got a BS from Columbia State University, never used it for anything other then a lesson learned when they were exposed on TV a week after I got my "degree" by showing how a dog got a degree in English.

    That made me smile Randell. Bad news to sit down to dinner and watch the news. only to have your alma mater turn up with a story about them awarding a dog a hard earned degree (did he graduate cum laude?). You have certainly made up for it as well as the other guy I mentioned. Another example to the OP of someone (Randall) who moved on VERY successfully.
