I have had experience with M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, so feel free to PM me if you would like my viewpoint as a caregiver and layperson. Best of luck to you and your wife.
Hey Ted! My wife is trying out a new chemo. She had a cancer tumor spread from her lung to her liver. Last week, Kim went to the famed University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center for a second opinion. The docs there seem to think that tumors are slowly starting to die off (necrosis)! She is in good spirits and health other wise. By the grace of God, she doesn't get all the horrible side effects from chemo like most people (except for hair loss). Next, Kim's regular doctor here in CA is going to order some genetic testing to target Kim's with chemo. Her regular doc, and her second opinion doc are working hand in hand now. Those in the cancer community and in general all chipped in to help with the second opinion expenses, travel room and board, CT Scan, lab work, etc. It added up in to the thousands! Our great insurance HMO plan does not cover (second opinions) those costs, so it has to paid out of pocket up front! All in all, we still have hope and faith. I would like thank all the members for their prayers and support. I would like to thanks all the members of the community who kindly donated to Kim's fundraiser and made her trip to Texas possible. How, are you? Still doing the Karaoke.
it's a good day FT! Faith should never be lost, because everyday begins anew. Thanks for all you have done!
