I am not particularly street wise on the subject of US Universities. I have been solicited by George Washington University for an online political management masters degree. Are these people respectable and regionally accredited? Roy Maybery
GWU is regionally accredited and well respected. They offer a cohort DSc program in my area that I would have loved to be a part of, but it is way too expensive for my taste. The link below will allow you to check the accreditation of universities in the U.S. http://www.ope.ed.gov/accreditation/Search.asp If you look at the USN&WR ranking of universities, you'll find GWU comes up 54th under National Universities: Top Schools. http://colleges.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/usnews/edu/college/rankings/brief/t1natudoc_brief.php
Outstanding school with a terrific reputation. Highly regarded here in the Washington DC area. The most expensive university in the country, but some of their nontraditional programs are competitively priced. (But I know of one master's that costs $44,000, plus books. This is more than 3 times the cost of ours in the same academic area!) If you like what you see, you'll get what you see. GWU is a great school. Good luck in your search!
