Oh yeah -- I think I've heard of that one -- a "feeder" school for Hogwarts Grads. They usually do well, there. :)

Congrats! Let us know how it goes. I decided to skip applying while I consider pre-reqs for a nontrad medical school application.

I usually do not de-rail threads but the nontrad medical school application threw me for a loop. You’re considering applying to med school???

I got in as well. I have to look back at the schedule to make sure it still aligns with mine.

I couldn't make this work due to my current work schedule, but I eagerly await reviews from those who attend! With any luck, they'll keep running this program and I'll get a chance down the line.

Congratulations! I am waiting for their email. I have not received a rejection email, so I hope it will take time to review the application.

I was accepted into the Summer 24 cohort. Has anyone else finished this program? What did you think?

Once again, I couldn't join due to the schedule of live sessions. How do they check live attendance? Is it possible to just turn the meeting on and listen, or is there some form of participation?

I work during those hours, and it would be far from "free" if I had to miss a few hours of work in order to do the live sessions. But I could get away with running it in the background, no camera on me, and muting it here and there when I need to take a call.

I attended the first session. It had too many people to be verbally interactive. The interactivity was done by polls, a small amount of chatbox, and there was a Q&A session that was optional if you wanted to stick around after the lecture, turn on your mic and cam and ask a question. You could run it in the background with cam off if you wanted to. They encourage people to leave cams on, but said they will not enforce/police it as a rule, understanding many people may have privacy policies at workplaces or other reasons they can't turn it on.
If that session is an indication of future sessions, I think it's safe for you to approach it passively with mic and cam off due to concurrent work. I really enjoyed the first session and am looking forward to future sessions.

I was in the spring cohort. I actually learned a lot. We created a WhatsApp where we talked about and shared ideas.

I am glad to have done it; quite a bit of good conversation with exposure to things I wouldn’t normally seek out. I would not pay for the product I received but that isn’t the point of this program anyway.

I'm enjoying it. Second lecture was from a former White House Director for International Finance. Gave a lot of real-world insight into the workings and priorities of bureacracies as they relate to each other and the White House in the development of policy. Speaker was very interactive with the class and honestly had way better pedagogy than Kent Smetters, the main guy. Third lecture delved into specific bills or policies PWBM ran models for and deep detail on how the model works and what data they feed into it. Its been really fascinating and gives you direct access to some really sharp people. Definitely worth every penny. ;)

Very nice do they require any work such as papers or exams?

Who and why should such certificate program be pursued?
What is the value to the certificate holder?

As someone who's completed this certificate program, I can share my personal experience and insights.

    1. Professionals in any industry affected by government policies
    2. Those aiming to transition into policy-related roles
    3. People looking to move into consulting or advisory positions
    4. Anyone seeking to broaden their understanding of how government works

    1. It provides invaluable knowledge about government processes and policy-making
    2. It enhances your credibility in policy-related discussions
    3. It opens up new career opportunities
    4. It helps you build a strong network in policy circles

The value to the certificate for me was significant.

    1. Knowledge gain: I learned a ton about how government and policy work at the national level. This knowledge has been applicable across various aspects of my career.

    2. Networking: We had a WhatsApp discussion channel where we made many connections. These relationships have continued beyond the program.

    3. Career advancement: After posting my certificate on LinkedIn, I was contacted by the president of my professional society. Now I serve on the policy committee, which has led to even more networking opportunities in my industry.

    4. Career transition: The program has been instrumental in my goal to transfer into a more consulting-focused role. The knowledge and connections I've gained directly apply to this career shift.

    5. Continuous learning: The program sparked an ongoing interest in policy matters, keeping me informed and engaged in my industry's evolving landscape.

In my view, the program was more than worth the time and effort. The benefits I've gained - in terms of knowledge, connections, and career opportunities - have far exceeded my initial expectations. If you're considering this program, I'd strongly encourage you to go for it. You might be surprised at the doors it can open for you.
