Holy Smokes: This is the first time I have heard of a whale suddenly exploding! http://www.etaiwannews.com/Taiwan/2004/01/27/1075168255.htm Abner
I knew drift-net fishing was dangerous for wales and dolphins, but I didn't realise they were under threat from dynamite fishing too!
there ya go! He, he, he! On another note, I don't think I am going whale watching anytime soon! See ya, Abner
Well... Here in Oregon we do it the old fashioned way ... with explosives! In this case, a half ton of explosives! http://www.katu.com/news/story.asp?ID=49982
This also happens with humans, expanding gasses break the body open. Because of the obvious weight difference between a whale and a human, I wouldn't call the human result an "explosion", more like an eruption. The worst case I've seen was someone who was dead inside his apartment for about a month, in the dead of winter. The heat was set at 80 degrees, and all the windows were closed. I was sent on a "well-being check", and my first clue that things were not well was the hundreds, if not thousands, of flies that covered every window of the apartment. Use your imagination to fill-in the rest.
