Unfortunately, I have not heard anything about high school distance learning, but I know that college distance learning is a good chance for getting a diploma for those people who have no possibility to attend classes. My advice to you: before making a decision, gather information.

I finished my High School Diploma online. I did it through (I believe) a state-wide program where you go once a week to your local public high school that offers the program (which throughout the state they actually had quite a few) and you basically sit on the computer while a teacher checks your work. We had to go for an hour or two each week and the rest of the class was all done online.

While I know this wasn't completely online, I believe that this way or schooling was far superior to actually attending classes at my local high school. I think as long as the student is motivated enough then online classes could be a great thing. I wish I had done my entire 4 years of high school online.

If you have any questions feel free to ask. I may not be much help but I'll try!
